This immersive public installation experience that took place during the Las Vegas art and music festival “Life is Beautiful 2014″ sheds light on the beauty and fear that complicate human lives and the search for solid ground. Through photography, I embrace science and technology to expose the fragility of our bodies. Although physical bodies are impermanent, I remain in awe of human persistence and recognize that at the most challenging times in life, people find the ability to reach beyond their struggles and fears.
The installation is comprised of large-scale hanging images printed on transparent cloth and viewed within panoramic landscape of the Mojave Desert. As the viewer moves within the square labyrinth of shadows and light, data-driven imagery derived from medical diagnostic technology blends with photographs reflecting places of sanctuary, allowing the viewer to become an integral part of this delicate search for balance.
